Crown of Thorns and Steel Terms of Use

1. Your license to play

PreBytes grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play the game on computers you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. The game is licensed to you, not sold.

2. What you may not do

• Copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the game or its files, except through an official PreBytes channel.
• Decompile, reverse engineer or extract the game's code, art, music, voice or story content, except where the law expressly allows it.
• Remove copyright notices, or use the game's characters, artwork, names or logos in your own products.
• Use cheats, exploits or modified files in any future online feature, or use the game to break the law.

You are welcome to stream the game and share screenshots and videos of your play, including on monetized channels, as long as you credit PreBytes and do not present the content as your own game.

3. Ownership

Crown of Thorns and Steel, including its story, characters, artwork, models, music, sound, code and trademarks, belongs to PreBytes and its licensors. Third-party components, such as the Unity engine, are used under their own licenses.

4. Age recommendation and content

The game is recommended for players aged 16 and up. It contains fantasy violence, blood, dark themes and disturbing imagery, and its story deals with the sacrifice of children. Parents and guardians should decide whether the game is suitable for younger players.

5. Pre-release builds

The game is in development. Playtest and pre-release builds may contain bugs, crashes, missing content and placeholder art, and saved progress may not carry over to later versions. Please report problems through the contact page.

6. Updates and online features

We may update, change or remove parts of the game. If future versions add online features, updates or community spaces, additional rules may apply to them; we will publish those rules before the features go live.

7. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, the game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be error-free or work on every computer. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, PreBytes is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or progress, arising from your use of the game. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

9. Ending these terms

You can end these terms at any time by uninstalling the game. If you break these terms, your license to play ends automatically.

10. Changes and contact
